Cats are obligate carnivores: their predatory teeth
and digestive system are suited for the intake and optimal
utilization of proteins. In nature, the cat's diet consists of
various small prey animals (mice, birds, fish), which are primarily
sources of protein and fat. (In addition to this are crude fibers and other
nutrients contained in the digestive tract of the prey animals). 'Almo
Nature' recommends that, for an optimally balanced diet for the cat,
all types of meat and fish, as well as wet and dry food,
be offered alternately. (60% wet food and 40% dry food,
complete, complementary and supplementary feed). Moisture plays
an important role in the cat's daily diet to promote its
fluid intake and to help reduce the risk of
urinary tract diseases.
